I'm no stranger to an elaborate dinner party. I love experimenting with techniques, preparations and ingredients. Over the years my friends and family have been the beneficiaries of my efforts in the kitchen. I believe that food can be a form of artistic expression in addition to being truly delicious to eat.
I always say that I love cooking too much to do it full time. That's why Downtown Chef is the perfect outlet for me. I get to bring my creativity and passion for food to other foodies a few times a year. You make a profound connection with someone when you cook in their kitchen. The starting point is the food but the experience is truly about the people. As a professional comedian I'm always looking for ways to connect with people and make them laugh. Whether it's onstage at a club or in living rooms across the country as the 'Leon's guy' I aspire to make people chuckle and enjoy life a little bit more. In 2021 I decided to pair my love of food and comedy as I launched my podcast Bites and Bits on the Sonar Network. See me in my element on the Chef Artois web series below. I participated in a high stakes cooking competition in front of a restaurant full of people! It was an action packed affair at Ki Modern Japanese and Bar. I was tasked with duplicating multiple signature dishes created by renowned chef Hing Wong. My culinary abilities were certainly put to the test! |
